Good morning! I’m happy to share another WIAW post with you today….or really what I ate yesterday. Yesterday was a pretty typical day, but my eating schedule was a little on the early side for me. I guess for many of us that’s pretty normal though. Last night I attended movie night at my chiropractor who is Dr. Nancy Smith in Morristown. She was hosting a viewing of the movie Hungry for Change and served complimentary organic popcorn popped in coconut oil. The movie was good overall and I highly recommend it if you are doing any research about processed foods or are on the road to start getting healthy or even if you are caught in a cycle of yo-yo dieting. It’ll be an eye opener for you. I love that my chiropractor really tries to do as much education as she possibly can about fighting inflammation in your body through the foods and supplements we put in our bodies.
Breakfast – I was not super hungry when I woke up so I popped half of an Ezekiel muffin in the toaster oven while I was making coffee. Once warm I added almond butter and just a touch of raw honey for a little sweetness. I buy the Organic Food for Life Sprouted Grain muffins. They are one of the few bread products I have seen that do not contain soy which I really do try to minimize in my diet.
Lunch – Since my breakfast was much smaller than normal I was hungry a little on the early side. So this was probably more of a Tuesday brunch. 🙂 I made the Egg & Veggie Bowl that I shared on the blog yesterday. You can click here for the recipe. I also enjoyed half a kombucha to drink.
Afternoon Snack – A kind bar of course. I wanted something quick as I was on my way out the door to workout in the afternoon and well these always seem just about right to me.
Post Workout Snack – A protein shake with frozen organic strawberries, Vanilla Classic Sunwarrior Protein, unsweetened vanilla almond milk, collagen powder, MCT oil and almond butter. It was really good and hit the spot after being outside on a warm afternoon.
Dinner – Dinner came kind of early too last night. The movie night started at 6:30 and I planned to eat when I got home since I typically don’t have dinner until 7:30 or 8:00 most nights. However, I kept with the theme of the day and I found myself making a salad before I headed out the door. The salad included spinach, purple onion, English cucumber, grape tomatoes, grass fed beef and goat cheese. The dressing consisted of olive oil and balsamic vinegar. A word about beef….I never buy beef that is not grass fed. I plan to do a more detailed post explaining my reasons why, but consuming meat that has been pumped with grains and hormones changes it from a healthy protein to a detrimental one. I also grabbed a few pieces of 85% dark chocolate before getting into my car.
After diner snacks – The popcorn at movie night of course! The bags were small so it was just enough. The coconut oil made it very tasty though.
I also needed another snack by the time I got home for the evening so I enjoyed an almond flour muffin with a little butter along with a cup of mint tea.

Question of the Day: Do you eat all of your meals at the same time or at random?
