Sundays are always the perfect day to get ready and plan for the week. I have shared previously on the blog that I like to document goals for the month. One of the ways I work towards these is mini-goals. I like to consider what I have to accomplish in a week because it makes a larger goal more manageable.
Meal Prep & Workouts
If you are trying to make the transition to eating healthier meals then I do recommend you do a weekly grocery haul, and consider some meal planning for the week. For example, if you are going to be taking lunches to work you will need an assortment of veggies and a protein to build your base. I like to give a little thought to planning out my workouts for the week too.
Scott and I have a little day date to go to the farmer’s market today after church. Our plan is to stock up on our produce, meats and essentials for the week. We do not typically follow an elaborate menu, but I will normally have a few items in the back of my mind. Here is a mini-haul from a few weeks ago.
- Raw Salads (A delicious spinach salad recipe is coming your way soon)
- Baked Spagetti Squash
- Grass-Fed Burgers with Sweet Potato Fries
- Seasoned Chicken
- Paleo Bread or Muffins
- Hard Boiled Eggs
- Homemade Protein Bars (need to search the web for a good recipe)
- Peppers, Celery and Carrots for hummus or nut butter
My current workouts are a mix of my version of “body building” at Lifetime, training with Scott in our garage gym and going to yoga classes. I also have been adding a little more cardio at the end of my workouts too. I call them Body Building workouts because I use a lot of machines and small weights to build up specific muscle groups. I was excited about my workout yesterday because I took it up a notch. My workouts have been a little less intense lately, and I feel myself simply going through the motions of a workout. Time to focus!
This Sunday is open because I will workout if I feel like it, but will take a rest day if I feel the need. I like to go a little more by feel because I do not get much activity when the weather gets cold. It is not enticing to go for long walks or hikes!

- Saturday – Bodybuilding (Lifetime)
