Howdy! Hope your week is going well. I wanted to pop in and share a new workout with you today.
I have always been a big fan of the TRX at the gym and took the plunge a while ago and bought one for myself. There are literally tons of exercises you can do on it and I feel it provides a great resistance workout that you can complete anywhere. This is why a TRX is a great tool for traveling because you can set it up in a hotel room or at a smaller hotel gym that has less equipment. Since I have been working around my shoulder injury I find the TRX provides me an opportunity to work on my upper body strength without having to include heavy weights.
I started my workout with one of my go-to fast HIIT cardio sessions on the elliptical. I will usually go for about 3 minutes at a moderate pace and resistance to warm up. For me, this is actually an incline of 5 with a resistance of 5. I then alternate one minute on (fast intensity) with a moderate intensity for 15 minutes. Again for me, this is an incline of 7 with a resistance of 6. I then do a quick cool down for a total of 20 minutes. You have to modify depending on your fitness level.
I then went through a circuit on the TRX which included a TRX Row, TRX Low Row and a Snow Angel. The only difference between a regular row and a low row is the finishing position which I noted in the image below. I completed 3 sets of 15 each. My last exercise was geared towards my abs. These ab crunches are awesome and I have noticed a significant difference in my core strength since I started adding them to workout rotation. I completed 3 sets of 20 each taking a brief rest after each set.
If you try out the workout let me know what you think in the comments section! Be mindful to honor your body and limitations so please make modifications as necessary!
