Sleep and Stress Test with EverlyWell
I believe that when daily workouts and healthy meals are part of who we are it elevates us in so many ways. Weight training makes me feel strong and that gives me the feeling I can handle whatever gets thrown in my way. Committing to eating well has really shown me the effects of our choices. What we think is small is really a big deal. That being said – I absolutely love promoting a healthy lifestyle and the positive changes it creates!
However, there are two elephants in the room that can often hold us back from positive physical progress. Sleep and stress are absolutely huge. In fact, I have often been guilty of not looking at those factors myself. When I’m dragging at the gym and unable to get to the next weight level. Those times when I’m working hard and eating well, but I just feel like my abs are a little less than stellar. Typically it’s cortisol rearing it’s ugly head.
Sleep and Stress Test
I started partnering with EverlyWell a few months back when I ordered their Food Sensitivity Kit for review. I absolutely loved my experience with the product, the process and the easy to understand results.
I’m sharing my experience with their kits because I think it’s so important to get this message out to others. These tests are not just for the rich or those who have all day to go from doctor to doctor. They are affordable and made simple so that we can follow through!
As I shared in this previous post, I ordered the sleep and stress test kit (retails at $249). Since I do struggle with sleep/stress I felt this test could be hugely beneficial to me!
Stress and sleep are two of the most important factors in our health, and they are intimately inter-related. Poor sleep can increase stress, and increased stress can contribute to poor sleep. Many issues with stress and sleep are demonstrated by, and can be contributed to, the primary sleep and stress hormones, cortisol and melatonin respectively. Examining these throughout the day, and how they relate to each other, can offer insights in abnormalities in stress and sleep patterns. (Source, EverlyWell.com)
This sleep and stress kit measures four different hormone levels:
- Within reference range
- Outside reference range or elevated risk
- High risk
I will be sharing my sleep and stress test results here very shortly. Once they are processed in the lab they are reviewed by a physician as well. I can’t say enough good things about this company that’s making this level of testing available to people.
Always make sure you are managing your stress levels with whatever methods work best for you. Plus we all know that the right amount of sleep makes everything look different.
