I am always on the hunt for natural skincare finds. As someone who loves new products I am always browsing the isles at drugstores and department stores alike. I am curious to see if something else out there might be better than what I am using. Plus, if I have expensive or high end versions I wonder if a drug store equivalent will be as good.
Natural Skincare Finds
Around 6:00 last night I shut down my computer and decided to head to the grocery store to grab a few items we needed. Word to the wise. NEVER shop the Monday night before Thanksgiving. It was a zoo, and the store was absolutely mobbed. I knew I was in for a rough time when it was struggle to find a parking spot. Not wanting to turn back, I decided to not stress and allow myself to take my time and wander a tad.
Our local food chain has a huge drug store section where I went to pick up a few items. I also thought I would share the items I bought as well as my latest beauty recommendations.
My skin has been drier as of late due to the change in seasons. Lip balm helps and I stash them all over the place. They can be found on my desk, in my purse, car and lots of random drawers. This EOS Lip Balm offers a nice amount of smooth moisture and a unique shape. Honeydew flavor for the win. 🙂
I have always heard that msascara should be replaced every three months or so. This is a religion in all beauty/health magazines. In fact, I have read this advice more times that I can count. Bacteria is at a high risk because of the way the product is applied. I was tempted to buy a new mascara from Sephora last week. However, I decided to give the Physicians Formula brand another try because it was a lot less expensive. This one promised me jumbo lengths. We shall see if that holds true or not.
Burt’s Bees is always one of my default lines, and I snagged their facial cleansing wipes for removing make up as well as one of their new lip crayons to try. Dr. Bronner’s Magic Soap in Lavender rounded out my haul.
I completely ran out of eye maker up remover the other day and was looking for my usual Yes to Carrots eye makeup remover pads, but they were nowhere to be found. Instead, I gave this Earth Science eye makeup remover a try. It was a new brand to me and the consistency is a bit of a thicker gel, but it works really well. Earth Science had a whole slew of other products I may look into trying in the future.
Tried & True
I also made the switch to Thai Crystal Deodorant about six months ago and so far so good! It was probably not a good idea to give up “regular” deodorant right before I moved to a hot place like Texas, but that is how I roll apparently. Does it work? Yes, I can report that it does. Of course I need a shower after I work out and such, but that should be mandatory anyway. I had tried many brands like Tom’s and such that were a flat out disaster.
Hope you are treating yourself well this Tuesday.
