Meals on the Go with Factor 75
Just like that we are back to reality! After the hustle and bustle of the holidays we are back to our usual routines. I love the seasonal break, but always enjoy getting back to more of a regular schedule too. There’s something about the fresh start of a New Year that makes anything seem possible!
Daily Food Grind
My daily reality always includes some meal prep and cooking time in the kitchen. There’s no way around it when you lead a healthy lifestyle. Naturally it does take up a bit of time and Scott and I often talk about ways to lighten the load. Between grocery shopping, cooking and clean up we both spend a decent amount of time grinding away at these activities daily.
Other than creating recipes for The Bikini Experiment I haven’t even attempted a new one in quite a while! The reason? Time. As a result, many of our meals in the Delaney/Frost household look the same….all the time.
Enter Factor 75
Since it’s nice to get a break from the same old I was intrigued when I received an offer to review Factor 75 and their meal delivery service. I’ve been hesitant to even consider trying a food delivery service because I figured there’d have to be a lot of preservatives to keep the meals fresh during the delivery process. Naturally, I reviewed the website and the meal offerings. When I saw terms like Paleo, Organic and Non-GMO I knew we spoke the same language.
You may be wondering if a food delivery service is right for you too. Time is the biggest struggle I hear when it comes to healthy eating. We can easily veer off course when the right things aren’t in the refrigerator. I totally get it! There’s been many time where I’ve come home from the gym late. I end up eating something quick because making chicken or roasting vegetables is too much to handle at 9:00 at night.
If you are considering trying a food delivery service, I wanted to walk you through my experience so you can get a sense of the cost, how the delivery arrives and what the food is tastes like! So if this is something on your radar keep on reading! Plus stick around to the end of the post for a special discount offer!
Factor 75 Order Process
I was a newbie to this entire process, but I really liked how it was put together. I was sent an email with order selections for the week. I had the option to go in and change the order to what I wanted. When I had an issue with one of my orders their customer service got in touch with me immediately.
Each meal had a nutritional breakdown with the macronutrients and calories provided. Every week there were different meals added to the rotation! So if you do enjoy a good amount of variety Factor 75 definitely delivers (pun intended).
If you want to let the service run on auto-pilot that’s totally an option as well. You can choose to receive dairy-free or Paleo-only meals if that’s your preference.
I received a shipping update when the window to change my order had come to a close. The packages arrived without fail every week and were very carefully arranged. Factor 75 even included large ice packs which I think is awesome if you aren’t at home to get your order for hours which is the reality of most people who work.
I had done a huge food shop the day that Factor 75 delivered one of the boxes and we kept the meals in the box for a couple of days. The ice packs were that good!
Every meal is fresh and only requires a quick re-heat in the microwave or oven.
Each meal is free of gluten, soy, GMO’s, hormones, antibiotics and preservatives. All meats are pasture-raised and grass-fed. All ingredients are organically grown.
Factor75 is truly focused on providing meals that are sensitive to any diet restrictions. It’s not diet food which I’m all about. If you are on a diet, I would recommend looking at the calorie and macronutrient breakdowns provided since calories can be dramatically different.
Over the years of I have consistently been weight training and increasing my food intake. As a result, my daily diet looks completely different than it did years ago. I chose my meals based on what sounded good on the menu. If it was a lighter meal, I would add a little extra – rice, a sweet potato or more veggies when I felt I needed more to eat.
Ok, they aren’t a meal exactly, but I loved the Superfood Bites. These were an awesome snack option and I really enjoyed them.
I received 8 meals a week for 4 weeks and got a really great idea of what Factor 75 has to offer.
My personal meal favorites were the Lamb & Bacon Meatballs, Tuscan Chicken Strew and Mongolian Beef & Broccoli.
The cost per meal is along the same lines as high-end take out. These ingredients are top of the line so I feel that the cost is actually very affordable and makes this service definitely worth considering.
- 6 Meals a Week is $77 ($12.83 per meal)
- 8 Meals a Week is $99 ($12.58 per meal)
- 12 Meals a Week is $138 ($11.50 per meal)
- 18 Meals a Week is $198 ($11 per meal)
I found that just having one meal already prepared for me was a huge life-saver. You can skip a week and cancel at any time. Delivery charge is based on location.
