Hello! I hope you enjoyed a nice weekend and/or safe travels depending on where you are headed for Thanksgiving. I am currently thrilled to have some sunshine back in Austin. I spent all day inside on Saturday getting some projects done, and working on our Thanksgiving Menu. The weather was simply dreadful. I cannot motivate myself to go out in a downpour without a very good reason. The strange thing about Texas weather is the way it can be so chaotic. After the terrible storm Saturday the next day brought warm temperatures and blue skies. I am not complaining about this change in events of course. After church, Scott and I decided to take advantage of the beautiful day and head over to our local farmers market.
Farmers’ Market Adventures
I managed to pick up a handful of items from my grocery list which I considered to be a success. I have discovered with farmers markets that you cannot be too attached to your list. Everything is seasonal and based on local availability.
Scott gets incredibly excited at the farmer’s market and tore ahead of me in a run/sprint to make me laugh. I think this picture is hilarious. Mad selfie skils I tell you.
We wandered around, tried samples, and picked up a variety of produce and meats. We also got a little adventurous and decided to buy duck eggs.
The farmers market we usually go to is right by a beautiful lake. At least, we think it is a lake. Any body of water is up for debate in Texas.
I think the farmers market can be a huge treasure in terms of the healthy foods you can find at great prices. Plus, it is a perfect little Sunday afternoon adventure too.
Question of the Morning: Do you ever go to the farmers market?
