Easy Seasoned Chicken
Keep it Simple
The best recipes are the recipes you actually make! Am I right? When it come to healthy eating you have to save the fancy for later. Those beautiful creations you see on Pinterest are good to save for a special ocassion. I am often making a lot of the same staples, but will then add the flavor to spice things up.
If eating well is new to you and if you are on a budget this process will save you a lot of time and effort.
Make it Tasty
Simple does not mean bland or boring though. Who wants to come home after a long day and sit down to something they don’t want to eat? I surely don’t want that for myself or for you.
Chicken is an amazing source of protein. It is relatively low in calories and fat. Plus it offers the advantage of being able to be seasoned in a variety of ways. It is one of my favorites for that very reason. I also never mind eating it cold so it’s a bit of a win-win in the prep department.
- 6 Skinless & Boneless Chicken Breast
- 3-4 Tablespoons Stone Ground Mustard
- Pinch of Pink Himalayan Salt
- Pinch of Ground Black Pepper
- 1 Teaspoon Ginger
- ½ Tablespoon Thyme
- ½ Tablespoon Basil
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
- Place chicken breast on a platter.
- Coat with mustard and add spices to both sides.
- Bake in a covered dish for 30 minutes.
- Ovens often vary so use a thermometer to assure your chicken is thoroughly cooked.
Meals Made Simple
A healthy diet should always be about balance. It should be a blend of clean proteins, healthy fats and complex carbohydrates to fuel your fitness and health goals. Some fun stuff needs its place too.
After you enjoy your healthy dinner save some room for these delicious brownies! I shared this recipe for gluten-free red velvet brownies and they are one of the best desserts I have ever made. It was in the spirit of Valentine’s Day, but I’m a little sad that they are all gone now. We all know about having balance with our food and a treat here and there is really important for the soul.
Balance your healthy with a dessert of some of your other favorites here and there. It’ll actually help you to stay more motivated to enjoy those lean meals too. Cheers to a delicious dinner!
