Oh hey, warm days. I am looking at you! Is it me or do beverage cravings come in waves? You just have to have the warm drinks and specialty coffee when the temps are low. Warm weather brings the desire for iced tea and smoothies of course. I drink smoothies all year round, but they have a soft spot in my heart on a hot day.
This strawberry smoothie is very simple and features just a handful of natural ingredients. As I have shared on The Bikini Experiment before I am not a fan of overcomplicating food or cooking. Keep it simple is my motto. Gone are the days when I used to stress that I couldn’t make a recipe because I needed ALL the spices and only had a few. The madness!
Meals Made Simple
The idea is that when a recipe is quick or easy it doesn’t become so daunting. When first lived on my own the kitchen intimidated me a bit. I made only the most basic things until I realized they weren’t even that healthy. It was time to up my game a bit. Up my game for sure, but keep it easy? Yes, please.
On the Go
Smoothies are a great source of after workout fuel. That is mostly when I consume them. They are also a wonderful breakfast if you need a fast drink on the go. I haven’t tried it, but my sister reports they are extra delicious if you let them sit in the freezer a bit first. I think that trick might be coming fast and furious since the temps are heating on up here in Texas.
