A glute bridge is a fantastic way to get started with building your booty moves. The option to add dumbbells allows you to easily increase resistance and get stronger with each repetition. Get your mat, grab your weights, and let’s get to work. I challenge you to include this exercise in your next workout!
Booty Basics with Glute Bridge
BUILD YOUR MOVES
The build your moves series is all about breaking down an exercise to maximize its benefit. If you aren’t performing an exercise properly there is a large chance you will develop muscles that you were not intending to work. Plus this is where we end up risking an injury. Learn the basics and then add weight to increase your resistance and get stronger. The formula is really that simple.
You can easily perform this exercise at a gym or the comfort of your living room. It is a basic exercise that can be made more difficult by adding those dumbbells. Our follow up will be a hip thrust! Be on the look out for that exercise next week. Next level, here we come! Add this to your workouts a few times this week so you are ready…
A glute bridge was an easy way I began to add strength training into my workouts. Rather than jumping into more complicated movements I spent a lot of time getting better and better with this one. I still include it in my workouts many years later. This is the beauty in building your moves.
As I have shared before I was a cardio bunny who saw the error in my ways. Finding a trainer who helped me break down these exercises (such as a glute bridge) was a total game changer. I hope to do the same for you because on the outside it can look so complicated.
Here is a You Tube video of me completing a glute bridge as well as one and two dumbbell variations. I am breaking down the exercise into easy to follow steps. Watch this video a couple of times and you will quickly see that you pick up on more and more detail each time. It’s also like we are working out together! Sometimes working out alone can seem a bit daunting so the support of a trainer can be hugely beneficial in numerous ways.
Lower Body Exercises
Lower body exercises are a win-win because they vastly contribute to improving your conditioning. However, they also burn more calories. Most of my full body workouts contain a glute and lower body strength training focus. I have seen tremendous results through this method.
