Growing up my skin was also a huge struggle for me, and I think this is part of the reason I became so fascinated with beauty and skin products. I have extremely fair and sensitive skin that was hyper reactive. I would break out a lot and suffered from rashes that would appear out of nowhere. It was beyond frustrating, and I was always on the hunt for a new cure. Dermatologists provided little help. My bathroom cabinets were filled with items that I purchased that gave me zero relief.
Beauty in Coconut Oil
I believe my diet and lifestyle have been huge transformational factors in the improvement of my skin. However, during my journey towards a healthier lifestyle I have also gravitated towards more natural skin care products. There are so many available now, and I have done a lot of personal research on ingredients to avoid. I had starting seeing everywhere recently that organic coconut oil was an amazing moisturizer. I was skeptical because I viewed it as a cooking and baking oil. I was also concerned that it was so thick that I thought it would cause massive skin disruption. Not true! I gave it a try a few months ago and have not looked back.
It is now prominently featured on my vanity. Speaking of which, I could never live without having one. I would feel simply lost!
I regularly apply coconut oil when I get out of the shower, and my skin is more receptive to moisture. I buy a jar at Trader Joe’s or Whole Foods, and online at Amazon. However, I keep it in a smaller container so it is easier to use. I take out a small amount and then rub it vigorously between my hands to break it down and make it more of an oil that is easy to apply.
I apply the oil wherever I need it and my skin drinks it up. A little goes a long way because it is a very dense product. My skin has never felt better. I also think that its anti-inflammatory properties are overall beneficial to your health.
