5 Tips to Empower Busy Babes
When you are striving to lead a healthy lifestyle and fit in workouts and meal prep around other demands you need organization above all else. Tools and planning are necessary to make it all happen.
January we are going to own you! We have goals and want to slay them. Here are the top ways that I try to stay on top of everything! Of course, this ain’t no easy thing. But through consistent planning, scheduling and prioritizing somehow things get crossed off the proverbial check list.
Do Your Meal Prep
I have a more in depth post coming your way on this topic for Friday! It is so important to have prepared food available to you that is convenient and fast. When you drag yourself home at the end of a long day willpower is less than zero. Whatever is quick and easy will win.
Instead of mindlessly eating your way through the refrigerator set aside some time to make a few essentials to have on hand. Rice, sweet potatoes, veggies and grilled chicken are personal favorites of mine.
Plan Your Workouts
Schedule the days you will workout and the time. Is it a class or are you lifting weights? If you are lifting weights do you have a plan for your workout? I post workouts weekly so those are a great resource for planning your sweat session.
It is really important to have a plan when you go to the gym. You do not want to wander aimlessly from one end to the other. It won’t be very productive and you’ll feel like you are at the gym forever. If you are working out at home stay focused and do not get distracted by your laundry or the mail on the counter.
Keep a To Do List
Calendars are great for appointments. Either a planner or wall calendar is great for this purpose. You can also use the calendar on your phone. This is convenient because you almost always have your phone with you.
But daily to do lists are a key way to remind ourselves to take out the trash or make a doctor’s appointment. We have so much to keep track of that it is key to write it down so we don’t forget.
Take a good look at the tasks you complete in a day. Many of those simple action items could be made easier and faster with a little help from the digital realm. There are a lot of online tools and apps for our phones that can streamline our planning.
Pack It Up
Lunch, gym bag and whatever essentials you need to make it through the day. I like to even lay out my clothes at night so it’ll eliminate decisions when I am trying to get ready. Try a few different scenarios and see what works best for you! Just never leave anything for the last minute. It’s a recipe (not in a good way!) for disaster.
