I cannot believe it is already the last weekend in March. The month literally flew by! I am still in Austin and very grateful to be enjoying weather that is in the 80s! That statement leads to be my very first item below and some other new favorites I am digging this week.
3/28: Friday’s Favorite Things
Sunshine – This was one of the worst winters that I can remember in New Jersey. Everyone was upset and it was a huge topic of conversation everywhere. Winter storm preparations were key conversation starters with random people. I kept telling my mother that she should not take the weather so personally since it is totally out of our hands. Very zen-like of me right? Well, around mid-February I started to snap as well and it began to feel very oh…personal. I think sunshine definitely improves my mood overall and helps me to feel like all of life’s tasks are not so burdensome. Plus, I like being able to show off my toe nails on a regular basis.
Casillero del Diablo – There is nothing quite like a nice glass of red wine after a long day. I am no wine expert and usually flock to whoever is on hand in the liquor store or section to get a recommendation. I’m certainly not a snob, but I have come to appreciate that sometimes you need to spend a little extra to get better quality. Not the case with this Cabernet! It was less than $10 which is a total bargain. I already purchased another bottle today for the not so distant future.
Under Armour – Workout clothes are so darn expensive. I feel it can almost be another wardrobe sometimes. My crazy purchase online the day included a pair of high socks, a package of regular socks and a t-shirt with no sleeves for just around $75. Yikes! A little on the pricey side, but I love the quality of Under Armour because their items do last. They also have a new line of totally adorable super hero t-shirts for women and I just could not resist. I dreamed of being Wonder Woman as a child so I figured now is my chance. I wanted t a tank for the summer so I wound up channeling my inner super girl instead with this choice.
Larabars in Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough – I like, but do not usually love Larabars. For anyone late to the natural snack party the chocolate flavors are the way to go, and I think I have tried just about all of them. I usually only eat half at a time if I want something sweet because they are pretty high in sugar and very low in protein content. However, there is something about the Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough flavor that does not even taste like a bar to me. The taste is closer to a cookie…hence the name. I still only eat half, but it’s a little tougher with this one.
Grey’s Anatomy – I typically watch one show at a time binge-style. During the above mentioned winter snow, I consumed countless hours of Breaking Bad. I’m not ashamed, but it is certainly easy to get sucked in when the next episode is a mere click away. Well, I recently jumped back on the Grey’s Anatomy band wagon after taking a break for many years. A lot of the characters have changed, but I am enjoying adding it back to my TV routine.
