Happy Friday! There is something about coming to the end of the week that always feels good. The weekend is always a nice time to relax, spend time with family and friends, and sleep-in without guilt. Below are a few new things that I have really been enjoying lately.
1/24: Friday’s Favorite Things
Toby’s Estate Coffee – I adore coffee and really enjoy seeking out local roasters and specialty coffees. Toby’s Estate Coffee is amazing and has a location in both Brooklyn and New York City. I recently went to take a pour over class. A pour over is a style of coffee preparation. I had no idea how it could improve my daily habit! I highly recommend stopping by if you are close to the area and you can also order their beans online. Their products cost slightly less than Starbucks and the quality is outstanding.
Hydro Flask – I found this on Amazon when I was searching for a reusable water bottle. I was starting to feel guilty about all of the water bottles I was using. It was just easy and convenient to simply grab one on my way to the gym or out the door. I really wanted a water bottle that was durable, washable and without any BPA. The hydro flask is all this and more because it even keeps your water delightfully cold.
Breaking Bad – I did not believe everyone I knew when they told me this show was beyond addicting. How could it really be that good? Well, of course it is. The story is like watching a train wreck and not one piece of this drama ever falls apart or doesn’t ring true. The plot of a down on his luck science teacher becoming a drug lord is a bit far-fetched, but somehow insanely believeable. You instantly become hooked on this story. I am doing my best not to succumb to insane marathons of TV viewing time. Instead, I’ve been allowing myself two episodes a night. It’s my daily allowance.
Restoration Hardware No-Crack Hand Cream – The winter is brutal for dry skin and this year is no exception. In fact, I think it might be one of the coldest seasons I can remember. I really like his hand cream because it’s intense without being too greasy.
Acorn Squash – For some reason, I buy a lot of spaghetti squash but never really think to try other types. This week I had picked up an acorn squash to try something different. I simply sliced it in half, baked it at 350 degrees for about an hour and 15 minutes topped with Kerrygold butter and organic maple syrup. Delicious! I enjoyed it with some salmon and veggies the other night.
These are just a few things I’m enjoying lately. What are your favorites? TGIF!
