“I can’t go back to yesterday because I was a different person then”…Lewis Carroll
Hi there and Happy Friday! I’m looking forward to catching up on some studying and working on a few writing projects I am cooking up this weekend. Scott and I have a date night to see Gone Girl on Saturday, and I am really looking forward to it. I read the book a few years, and the story is completely wild. I will let you know what I think! We have not been to the movies together in forever so this will be a nice treat.
Any fun and exciting plans on your end?
It has been a little tradition of mine to share a few favorite items from the week on Fridays. Below you will find a collection of the things that made me laugh, smile or fall in love a bit. I invite you to share anything you have been enjoying in the comments section.
So here are some Friday Favorites Things coming your way!
10/10: Friday’s Favorite Things
Blog Well Summit
Through the social media grapevine I ran across some information earlier this week about the Blog Well Summit. Check this out…it is virtual and FREE.
It is a virtual conference series for healthy living bloggers that will run from October 17-19. Free and no travel required? Sign me up. I will be attending the Prevention R3 Summit that weekend in Austin so there is some definite overlap. However, I plan to jump onto my laptop whenever I have a chance to view as much as possible.
Each conference is going to cover one topic in-depth which will include video learning sessions, interviews with industry influencers, panel discussions and social media learnings. If you are a blogger or interested in marketing and/or social media I would highly recommend registering.
You can learn more about it here.
I am loving all the squash variations right now. I had never tried Delicata Squash before but I grabbed it on a whim recently during a Trader Joe’s shopping trip. Trader Joe’s usually provides a little sticker on the produce with a basic recommendation for preparation.
I simply washed and sliced the squash into pieces and baked it at 350 for about 25 minutes. All I used for seasoning was a coating of coconut oil, turmeric and salt and pepper. I really recommend it for a great change of pace!
Speaking of fall, now that it is October I am really enjoying sites like this as I go about my day and I am out running an errand or two…
My local food store is definitely on point with their festive spirit!
I was walking up the stairs at Lifetime earlier this week and saw the activity desk decked out with seasonal spooky netting and such. These little touches really made me smile. It was just another reason that Lifetime is tops in my books!
Marc Jacobs Purse
Like many women I have a weakness for expensive brand handbags. I had been dying for a nice cross body purse for a while, but have not been using it as much as I should. I took this one down from my closet shelf last weekend for the Austin City Limits Music Festival.
It is gray so it can really be worn with any outfit, and it is just the right size for essentials. I cannot exactly pack up my vanity and take it with me, but maybe I should not be doing that anyway. I tend to get in a purse rut at times, but I am fortunate to have a few nice ones so I need to mix it up more!
Early Birthday Presents
The Bikini Experiment Kitchen
I had so much fun filming the first video in a series on healthy kitchen essentials.
Plus my kitchen looks so amazingly clean! It is unfortunate that it could not have stayed in that state longer…
Now it is time to do the Friday dance! Thanks to Heather for hosting the party. 🙂
